Oil Pressure Gauge Kit for BMW R nineT model range – The correct oil pressure at 80°/90° Celsius (correct engine running temperature) should be a minimum of 12 psi (0,8 bar) at idle and about 51 psi (3,5 bar) at 4.000 rpm according to BMW workshop manual. All fittings are made out of stainless steel. Every line is made with a braided stainless steel hose covered by a black heatshrink sheat and it is individually pressure tested.

The oil pressure gauges have the case made in stainless steel and are black powder coated and they are also silicone filled (instead of glycerine) thus being able to work properly at below zero temperatures while the reading is not affected by vibrations. The mounting brackets are carved from solid aluminum and are black anodized. Installation is very simple and it is “plug and play”. The mounting takes place by simply removing the M12x1,5 allen head oil plug screw located on left lower engine side and replacing it with our special stainless steel adapter that is connected  to our braided stainless steel black hose. This line is therefore connected to our stainless steel special engine adapter at one side and to our oil pressure silicon filled gauge to the other side. This line has got two special stainless steel 90° fittings, one is fixed while the other one is swivelable to allow a simple and straight forward installation. The fixed 90° fitting is usually connected to our special stainless steel engine adapter and the swivelable 90° one is connected to the oil gauge (with and optimal 90° angle in relation to the position of the mounting bracket) and the possibility to rotate it allows an always correct alignment of the two ends of the line.

Our oil pressure gauge mounting bracket is carved from solid aluminum and it is installed on the left engine side near the cam cover using a stainless steel button head screw. It is cleverly held in place by the specially designed anti-rotation bracket connected to the main supporting bracket with a matching stainless steel button head screw. In addition to this our mounting bracket has a stainless steel grab screw to block gauge in position after having correctly aligned it. Once the gauge is inserted and blocked in our aluminum bracket, from top down the best routing of the line is through the “Y” shaped cross bone of the bike frame and then down alongside the engine cylinder and belt cover (line is kept in place with the use of the provided aluminum rubber covered clamp) to the engine oil adapter at an angle of about 45° in between radiator line and engine casing.
